Design project: Space installation

Let me introduce a project I've done at school. I'm actually kinda proud of what I've made so please take a look. <3

The idea of the project was to design a space installation with two seasons for themes and dimensions 8000x4000x3000, and to make a scale model of it in scale 1:20.


First we made some collages and painted abstract paintings of the seasons we chose. I chose winter and spring. In the paintings I tried to avoid using the most obvious colours, as you can see I didn't use any green in the spring painting and in the winter painting white isn't the dominant colour. I though winter is dark and static with a hint of light and tried to express those thoughts with horizontal lines and rich dark blues and bright yellow and red. In springtime nature starts to live and grow again, which I tried to picture with diagonal and organic shapes and colours that represent the dead ground starting to live again.



After a good while of sketching and drawing and pondering I got some drawings done.. and even tried out some colours on the perspective picture. The colours were pretty much the same as in the paintings..



Then started the tricky part of the project; building the actual model. I used medium-density fibreboard for the floor and made the walls and the top of a piece of polycarbonate. The platform on the winter side is also plastic. I painted the pieces with regular spray paints and then put the model together. Sounds a lot more simple than it really was..!! But eventually I got the model done and took some really nice photos of it.

Oh finally that Twitter widget seems to work again. (；一_一)

Hey, I finally have finished some works!! ( ´▽｀) ..like schoolworks and such. And overall I feel like posting pictures and scribbles and other stuff.. so be prepared. [hah, like anyone ever read this blog. (￢_￢) But anyway. I'll post something later when I'm not in the middle of trying to wake up and get my ass to school..! Yeah, I'll make them individual posts because I obviously have to write huge walls of text about my works.

We have started photography lessons at school.. and just last night I actually had a dream that I had a good camera... (*´д｀*) I really want one you know.

GO!

..so yesterday I went to see Girugamesh at Nosturi. It was awesome.
I was a little bit surprised by the setlist.. because they started by playing some songs that weren't from the newest album GO but fron NOW. ..oh well I most certainly can't complain, I liked all the songs equally... except the very last song they played. Because they played my all time favourite, 壊れていく世界.
